President of the United base of Red State America

Those of us outside of the 48-51 % of Americans that count should really just calm down or at least settle into a blood pressure lowering resignation. The fact is, that it really ain't about us anymore. All that talk about being a uniter and not a divider, all those and similar platitudes about national unity, don't have any relevence to our way of seeing the world. We are the unfortunate losers in a political caste system, where you're either with the group in power or you're out. The new political calculus says play to a base, increase that base and screw everybody else not smart enough to see it your way. That includes politicians, media, and regular citizens.(Those Louisiana folks really should have had sense enough to have a Republican governor) I guess it makes sense on some level, why worry about not fooling all of the people all of the time, when you can fool enough of the people enough of the time to get you over.
