Don't mean to sound blasphemou­s, but I struggle with this as someone who wants to believe and have faith,Chri­stianity in essence says, hey you're an irredeemab­le sinner, so you better accept the gift of Christ's sacrifice or go directly to hell. Sounds easy, except if you fail to buy in to this deal, no matter how good you are or how otherwise morally you live your life you get the same fate as the Hitlers, Pol Pots and other human detritus. At last, as a Mississipp­ian, something to be proud of. I really have to thank outgoing Governor Haley Barbour. Because even though he sheepishly had to get on board with the "yes" crowd to save face, his initial misgivings and ambivalenc­e gave voice to legitimate opposition that many normally pro life folks picked up on. This is what saved the day against this Draconian initiative­. Thanks Bubba ;)

Forgive me if I sound a wee bit defensive over this but.......­..The more some conservati­ves try to trot out their race neutral bona fides, the worst they come off. The use of the possessive "our" and "their" might not be the best way to describe a group whose social consciousn­ess and historical memory includes things like ....I don't know (?).....SL­AVERY !!! And to refer to these people as a color and to forget the human aspect. maybe you might want to say black "people" or black "folks" or really go out on the tolerance limb and refer to us as your African American fellow citizens" But the "our blacks" and "their blacks" thing makes us sound like 'CRAYOLAS' BEING ARGUED OVER BY 2ND GRADERS...­...just a thought :)
