Alabama Governor Says Only Christians Are His 'Brothers And Sisters'

Gonna cut ol' boy a little slack here...lots of time those of us who profess some fealty to the Christian faith may refer to one another as brothers or sisters in Christ, as in a family of believers. And those who are non believers are seen as being outside that family of faith. Now I'm not being an apologist for the in-eloquent or exclusionary way that these remarks sounded, but given this context, and that he did "try" to separate his religious conviction from his civic responsibilities, I don't think (as the headline begs) Alabama is careening towards a "Christian Sharia" state,

Sarah Palin's Arizona Shooting Statement Blasts Journalists & Pundits' 'Blood Libel' (VIDEO)

I agree that the actions of a deranged man shouldn't be laid at the feet of those who use colorful rhetoric. But the almost reflexive crybaby routine you get from Palin and the "waah-waah" thumb suckers on the right, whenever dealing with the slightest criticism, shows how immature and thinned skinned they are.

Poll: Obama, GOP Improve Standing

I'm sure the GOP won't take much solace in their slight bump. it might seem like deja vu from the Clinton years after the 1994 mid-terms, and we all know what happened in 1996. To the larger point, the fringe right tactic of scaring many with the "Obama ain't one of us" talk is slowly backfiring as more and more Americans get comfortable with the 'skinny guy with the funny name'. and the Palin/ Tea Fringe reveal themselves to be the hateful inept loons we've always known them to be.

Andrew Luck Staying: Stanford Star QB To Remain In School For Another Year

I gotta say for a Stanford guy, not a smart decision, his stock is never gonna be as high coming out and you can't count on a program like Stanford to put together as strong a supporting cast behind him each year. Given all the different ways people finish degrees, via distance learning, etc why risk a seemingly once in a lifetime shot for some "rah-rah" college football glory. It's time to get PAID young man. I remember another Stanford guy who left early, he went on to put together a decent few years in his chosen sport. Only other class that coulda' helped him woulda' been Skank Aversion 101 and I don't think that's in the Stanford undergraduate catalog.

Terrell Owens, Chad Ochocinco Take On Brett Favre's Fine (VIDEO)

Yeah, It may sound like racial whining by a couple of immature athletes, but it does reflect the perceived reality among more than a few black NFL-ers that the league goes to great lengths to project and protect the image of accomplished Caucasian QBs as the marketing faces of the league. Wanna bet that in a few years all will be forgiven with Ben Roethlisberger ?
