President of the United base of Red State America

Those of us outside of the 48-51 % of Americans that count should really just calm down or at least settle into a blood pressure lowering resignation. The fact is, that it really ain't about us anymore. All that talk about being a uniter and not a divider, all those and similar platitudes about national unity, don't have any relevence to our way of seeing the world. We are the unfortunate losers in a political caste system, where you're either with the group in power or you're out. The new political calculus says play to a base, increase that base and screw everybody else not smart enough to see it your way. That includes politicians, media, and regular citizens.(Those Louisiana folks really should have had sense enough to have a Republican governor) I guess it makes sense on some level, why worry about not fooling all of the people all of the time, when you can fool enough of the people enough of the time to get you over.

Gots ta do better this year

After a year only 17 posts, yeah I was out for almost 5 months because of certain personal issues, but dang.....Anywho, so much to talk about, the (ahem) House vote tonight, what are the Republicans trying to prove by bringing this ridiculous resolution tonight? Better this than to display more intra-party in-fighting. It has to be for the benefit of the all mighty moronic righty base. Seems Mr Fitzgerald Esq. isn't quite finished, probably a lot of wingnuts are squirming as they dissemble.

Yea, we won ! I guess

Yes it does feel good to come out of a Tuesday in November feeling good about the future. How long has it been ? And to get Virginia after the last minute stop over by Dubya is especially sweet. But the last thing the Dems need to do now is gloat, (Well maybe just a little) cause the Repubs will come out of this with more focus and intensity, and put everything into trying to cream us next time around, (06) and yes they still have organizational and financial superiority. But this will allow us the opportunity to recruit some attractive candidates and grab a few more shekels.
